Face shape also plays a role in choosing earrings. Use our mini-guide not only for weddings, but also in everyday life.
Round and Heart-Shaped Faces
A round face is characterized by equal length and width, wide cheekbones, a relatively low forehead, and a narrow jaw. A heart-shaped face has wide forehead and cheekbones and a narrow chin.
Suitable earrings: long, dangling, linear, geometric models with facets, triangular earrings, and thread earrings. These options elongate the face and add more structure.
Not suitable: round styles of earrings with hoops, studs with large stones. Focus on elegance.
Oval shape
The hairline and chin are rounded, the jawline is not pronounced, nor are the cheekbones, and the ratio of height to width of the face is approximately 3 to 2 — a typical characteristic of an oval face shape.
Suitable earrings: any, except for extra-long and elongated styles.
Triangular shape
A triangular face has a wide forehead, strong cheekbones, and a pointed chin.
Suitable earrings: models that will make the facial features softer and more delicate—round studs, small earrings with neat stones, long, voluminous shapes.
Not suitable: geometric, structured earrings (triangular, square, rectangular, diamond-shaped).
Square shape
A square face shape is characterized by wide cheekbones, a massive chin, and a forehead that is not very high, approximately equal in width to the lower part of the face.
Suitable earrings: as with a triangular face shape, the main task is to round and soften the features—choose lace earrings, soft shapes such as drops, clouds, and flowers.
Not suitable: geometric, structured earrings (triangular, square, rectangular, diamond-shaped).
Elongated shape
An elongated face is one where the length-to-width ratio is greater, usually with unbalanced proportions.
Suitable earrings: square and horizontal shapes, jewelry with large stones and made of structural, rough materials. This will visually widen the face.
Not suitable: small, thin, long earrings.
