A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to take part in this amazing photography session inspired by the “Great Gatsby” movie coming out this month. The beautiful art deco style was a major part of this shoot, and photographer Anouschka Rokebrand found the perfect spot in Amsterdam to photograph this gorgeous shoot. Enjoy all the images below!

It has been a while since I have posted any updates, but I have some great ones lined up starting with this gorgeous post! Last year I was asked to be a part of a inspirational bridal photography session made by Gaby Jeter located in Las Vegas. I really loved the ideas Gaby had for the shoots. She does not photograph standard bridal portraits, but they really become a work of art. The attention to mood, detail, and lighting is amazing, and all photos are shot on film. Patricia & Ruben’s Wedding

A little while ago I came across the wedding of Patricia and Ruben on the Website of wedding photographers Mon et Mine. I always enjoy seeing the brides behind the headpieces that I sell. It’s so special to see what kind of style fits a bride. I was stunned to see the match with the “Soft Petals” headpiece. Patricia really embodies the style of the headpiece, natural glamour! The pictures taking in the natural park and old stone factory are absolutely breathtaking. Together with the rainy grey and dark clouds in the sky, this couple truly shines! I am so happy to share these amazing pictures of their day!

Rianne & Sander’s Wedding

This is truly a spectacular dutch wedding, Sander and Rianne decided that they would not have one wedding day, but have two! I was so stunned by the amazing photography, and all the little details they managed to create within there magical wedding. During the day Rianne wore a truly unbelievable veil, and at night she swapped the veil for the “Blooming Blossom” headband so won in the contest we put up together with wedding photographers Mon et Mine. From the morning, to the ceremony, to their party in the evening, their day is just so stunning I can’t get enough of looking at it.

Matt & Emma’s Wedding

A while ago I go to create the “Everlasting Love” veil for a bride in Australia. Because she came across the veil pretty much at the last minute before her wedding, we rushed the creation process to get it out to Australia as quickly as I possibly could and ship it out! Luckily it came in time for the wedding, because I would not have missed the absolutely gorgeous images of this wedding! The surroundings, the feel and detail of this wedding, and yet the elegant and still comfortable rustic is truly magical. This is a little testimonial of the brides story to the perfect details and look for the wedding.

“After searching high and low for my perfect gown in Melbourne, Australia I couldn’t find ‘the one’ that ticked all the boxes – not strapless, not A-line but not trumpet skirt either, heavy lace with no sprakles, a warm champagne undertone and a gorgeous train. I was in love with a lot of Monique Lhuillier lace gowns but didn’t have the access (nor budget!) for one in Melbourne. Luckily, a family friend is a fantastic dressmaker who I brought my design to. My major hurdle in creating my wedding gown was sourcing the perfect lace. All laces my mum and I could find either had diamante detailing (not something I was keen on), was too white and not ivory or was ridiculously out of budget. My mum was going on a trip to Greece and Turkey during this time and after many text message’s and emailed photos in the middle of the night she found my perfect lace, detailed and heavy without being too elaborate, in the Istanbul Grand Bazaar! My dream gown was created using this lace and a champagne toned silk lining. I had always envisioned wearing a simple mantilla with a lace edge, hopefully using the same lace from my gown.

My dressmaker and I started to think that perhaps this would be too much lace though, and distract from the concept of my gown. We also discovered the lace from Turkey would not be suitable to use to edge a veil, and also had trouble sourcing the perfect soft veiling locally. I had saved SIBO Design’s Everlasting Love mantilla veil as my dream veil and showed it to my dressmaker, who advised me to just order it and hope it matched! This however was only two weeks before the wedding and I had to get the veil from Amsterdam to Australia and pray that it was perfect! Sheila was FANTASTIC in getting it to me on time (and beautifully packaged), my sisters and I unwrapped it and ooh-ed and aah-ed over it before pronouncing it amazingly perfect to match my lace gown. From a last minute decision, my Everlasting Love mantilla became my statement piece at our wedding ceremony. I had so many comments on my beautiful veil and how it complimented my wedding gown.”

SIBO Designs Garter Designs Part 1

Hi everyone,

Lately I am working very hard to get as many beautiful new designs in the store! For the past couple of weeks I have been thinking of creating ribbon garters, and to do something with them that really makes them personal. So I have decided to have the names of the engaged couple stamped on the ribbon. This makes it so cute and personal, that I could not wait to create my example pieces.

This is only the beginning of many more new designs to come. I am planning a lot of new and exciting new pieces to be produced within the next couple of months. To keep updated you can also find SIBO Designs on Facebook!

Chris & Krista’s Wedding

October, the month where all the trees have golden leaves and nature looks so warm when the sun is shining. The perfect setting for a fall wedding. The “Blushing Butterfly” veil was a perfect match for this bride. The look and style of this wedding is truly amazing! Read below the heartwarming story of how this wedding came together, and how one couple can achieve the perfect result and truly show who they are.

“Fall Foliage Wedding at the Webb Barn in Old Wethersfield, CT – Chris & Krista” My favorite parts of the wedding were the ceremony and the details.
The ceremony was 10 minutes and perfect! We were outside, I carried the same bible that every woman in my family carried on her big day, we were married by a family friend and it’s the only moment when I actually felt jittery and cried like a baby; other than that, I couldn’t stop smiling!

Creating all the finer points with Chris was how our theme evolved. I played the role of designer and Chris was my art director: I bombarded Chris with my Pinterest board, Etsy, blogs, shopping catalogs and a house-full of wedding magazines! He either yeah or nayed my ideas, and there were a TON of ideas! Together, we were able to simplify my barrage of thoughts and create a cohesive vision. We had champagne taste on a beer budget, and that’s why our wedding was so “us.” We created a sophisticated, organic and fun vibe that was inspired by nature and the fall foliage that surrounded us. We only completed projects we knew we were good at and wanted to do, and we trusted our vendors to do a great job. They all went above and beyond! My advice to other brides is to intelligently choose your vendors and have confidence in each others’ talents. Example: Chris is a designer/ art director and I trust his eye immensely, so he created all of our paper goods and website; I adore shopping, so I chose all the outfits. I loved the nature-inspired veil by Sibo Designs and the effortlessly timeless and comfortable Nicole Miller gown. The J.Crew bridesmaids outfits were chosen by the girls themselves (but I loved the vintage burgundy color).

Everyone always says something will go wrong on your wedding day, and we were prepared for that to happen, but, all-in-all, our day really was perfect! It snowed at our rehearsal dinner (in October!), it was sunny and crisp on our wedding day (but our love kept us warm!), and the next morning there was a historic October snowstorm that crushed all of New England! I’d say we were lucky to say the least! On top of that, our guests said our wedding was, “the most fun party” they’d ever been to, and that’s exactly what we wanted!”

Sabrina & Jeren’s Wedding

A couple of months ago a bride came to me interested in the “Touch of Love” veil and was also interested in matching gloves with the veil. She had been searching all over for the perfect accessories and only a couple weeks before her wedding contacted me. Sabrina and Jeren knew from the beginning what the style of their wedding was going to be, small, simple, and elegant. This couple looked so amazing on their wedding day! They held their amazing ceremony at the church and their reception in their favorite restaurant. The veil and gloves look absolutely stunning on Sabrina, and I am very proud that I had a chance to contribute a small part to their amazing and very intimate day.

Simone and Casper’s Wedding

One amazing proposal, on a holiday to Thailand and Combodja. The sun, wind, and a huge engagement ring where the start of their journey to their perfect wedding. Their two very different characters also meant two different opinions on what the wedding should have been like. Casper wanted their wedding to be effortless, relaxed and no big plans for the day, just enjoying every minute with his new bride and all their family and friends. Simone wanted things to be slightly more organized and took matters into her own hands, and made sure every little detail of her day including her dress and hair accessories where perfect. Their wedding took place on one of the most beautiful days this year, the sun was shining all they, and so where they.
